Ship Cook Training -Culinary Art On Ship

Food is significant for survival be it off shore or on shore and as they say, ‘No war can be fought on an empty stomach’. The galley or catering department on ship is responsible for preparation and serving of food to the crew on board of a ship as well as tomaintainthe hygienic factor. There are a number of jobs available in this department that includes – Chief Steward, Chief Cook, Second Cook, Bakery/Pastry Man, Cleanersand Dish Washers.
Every department in maritime is important,the role of the catering department is considered as the ‘support system’ for the entire crew as these chefs take the responsibility to provide the most fundamental source of energy that is ‘Food’ which is cooked in large quantities to perfection for the entire crew.

To cater is a skill that a person can master with appropriate training. Aims Institute of maritime studies understands the importance of polishing those skillsets hence,it provides an approved Ship cook Training and assessment center as per regulation 3.2 and guidelines A3.2.2 of the MLC2006,that a cook must trained, qualified and found competent for their position.
