Every department in maritime is important. The role of the catering department is considered as the ‘support system’ for the entire crew as these chefs take the responsibility to provide the most fundamental source of energy that is ‘Food’ which is cooked in large quantities for the entire crew.
Ships’ cooks are seafarers whose primary responsibility is to prepare food for the crew of the ship. Their role extends beyond the preparation of food to include maintenance of the kitchen and ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of food and drink preparation areas along with the handling and storage of food and stores.
